Terms of use

Draft for guidance. This document is subject to UK legal review before public launch.

1. About ChurchShare

ChurchShare is a free platform operated by Wild Kestrel that helps UK churches give unwanted equipment to other churches. ChurchShare is a noticeboard only: it does not inspect, test, transport, guarantee or take ownership of any item.

2. Eligibility

Anyone may browse. Listing and requesting items is limited to UK churches and church plants whose registration has been approved. You must be authorised to act for the church you register. We may decline, suspend or remove accounts at our discretion.

3. Everything is free

Items must be given free of charge. You must not request, offer or accept payment, donations in exchange, or other consideration for any item listed on ChurchShare.

4. Givers' responsibilities

  • Only list items your church owns and has authority to give away.
  • Describe items honestly, including condition, faults and missing parts.
  • Do not list items that are unsafe, illegal, recalled or hazardous.
  • Reserve items only for a church that has asked for them, confirm when you have handed an item over, and confirm honestly when you have received one.

5. Receivers' responsibilities

  • Items are received as seen, at your own risk.
  • Check items when you collect or receive them and ensure they are safe and suitable before use, including having electrical items PAT tested.
  • Arrange collection or shipping directly with the other church. If you cannot collect, you would normally cover the shipping costs, unless you agree otherwise. The arrangements are entirely between you. Items are given free; covering agreed shipping costs is not a sale, and ChurchShare takes no fees or payments.
  • Only confirm a gift as received once it has actually arrived. Dispatch alone does not complete a gift.

6. Contact details

When you request an item you agree that we share your church's contact details with the giving church. Use details you receive only to arrange the gift.

7. Content

You are responsible for the listings, photos, messages and stories you post. Don't post anything misleading, offensive or that infringes others' rights. We may moderate or remove content.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Wild Kestrel is not liable for the condition, safety or suitability of items, or for any loss arising from arrangements between churches. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
