The generosity principle

Give what you can.
Receive what you need.

ChurchShare exists so that good equipment finds a new purpose, and so churches can bless one another freely.

Freely given, freely received

  • Every item is free. No prices, payments, bidding or exchanges of money.
  • Churches are encouraged to give, but giving is never a condition of receiving.
  • There are no points, leaderboards, financial valuations or preferential treatment based on past giving.
  • When you've been helped, we encourage you to pass generosity forward.
  • ChurchShare is open to churches of every denomination and tradition.

Safety guidance

  • Describe honestly. Givers should describe condition, faults and missing parts accurately, with clear photos.
  • Electrical safety. Treat all electrical items as untested. Have them PAT tested by a competent person before use, and check cables, plugs and casings for damage.
  • Suitability. Receivers are responsible for checking items are safe and suitable for their intended use, including children's equipment, furniture load ratings and fire safety labels.
  • Collection. Agree a time and place in advance, lift safely and bring enough people for heavy items. Follow your church's safeguarding and lone-working policies.
  • Shipping. Arrange collection or shipping directly with the other church. If you cannot collect, you would normally cover the shipping costs, unless you agree otherwise. The arrangements are entirely between you. Pack items carefully and share tracking where you can.
  • Data. Use the contact details you receive only to arrange the gift.

ChurchShare does not inspect, test, transport, guarantee or take ownership of any equipment.
