ChurchShare is operated by Wild Kestrel, the data controller for personal data collected through this website.
What we collect
- Account details: email address and password (stored securely, hashed).
- Church profile: church name, address, postcode, website, contact name, email and phone.
- Listings, wanted posts, photos, requests, messages, stories and reports you submit.
- Messages sent through our contact form.
How we use it
- To verify and approve churches and run the platform.
- To pass your contact details to another church when you request or offer an item, with your consent.
- To send service emails such as enquiry notifications and account messages.
- To moderate content and keep the platform safe.
Our lawful bases are performance of our service, consent where requested, and our legitimate interest in operating a safe platform. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.
Who can see it
Your church name, town and listings are public. Contact details are only shared with a church you've exchanged an enquiry with, and with ChurchShare administrators.
Retention and your rights
We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards. You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to processing, by contacting us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
